Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Creatool collects, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, and optionally a display name/username, when you sign up (via email/password or Google sign-in).
  • Content you upload: video clips, project data (timelines, text overlays, settings), stored so you can access and edit your projects.
  • Usage data: how many exports you've used, your current plan, and storage used, so we can enforce plan limits and show you accurate account info.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by PayPal and Paddle, our payment processors. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and basic subscription status (plan, billing date) — we never see or store your full card number.
  • Local browser storage: guest projects (before you create an account) are stored only in your browser, not on our servers, until you sign up.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain the Service, process payments and enforce plan limits, communicate with you about your account, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third Parties We Share Data With

  • Supabase — hosts our database and authentication.
  • PayPal and Paddle — process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Anthropic — powers the optional AI hook-generation feature, if you use it (your input text is sent to generate suggestions).
  • Google, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube — only if and when you choose to connect an account for posting; we only access what's needed for that feature.

4. Data Retention

Your account data and projects are retained as long as your account exists. Deleting your account (available in Settings) permanently deletes your account and associated projects from our systems.

5. Your Rights

You can access, update, or delete your account data at any time from Settings. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR or CCPA — contact us to exercise them.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to cache guest projects before you have an account. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, access-controlled databases) to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Creatool is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; continued use after changes take effect means you accept the update.
